Hello everyone, its been a long time since my last post.  That's because I have not been able to paint due to a  long term illness.  I have many paintings of the Wilmington area planned for this year so stay tuned for more art.

"Morning Light" Plein air 11x14

I know its been awhile since my last post, but I have not been slacking!  I've been working on a large landscape painting for several weeks.  A couple weeks ago I was ready for a break and change of scenery so I   went to my farm to decompress for awhile.  Of course I took my field easel and paints so I could do some painting.  This is the first of two paintings I did while there.  Got it about 80% finished on site and wrapped it up at home.  Will post the other one as soon as I can shoot a picture of it.

Sugarloaf Dune Plein Air

This is today's plein air effort.  Its the view up Sugarloaf Dune above the Cape Fear River.  It was quite a hike with all my gear to get there.  It is 11x14 oil on stretched canvas.

Great Horned Owl

I've always been intrigued by Great Horned Owls and have been lucky to see them in the woods a few times.  I saw this one sitting up in a big loblolly pine tree and he was watching me too. "Great Horned Owl" 18"x24"

Farm Pond #1-Plein Air painting

This is a plein air painting that I did a few weeks back when I was in the piedmont. I painted it all on location except for finishing the tree at home because after painting a few hours my canvas was in shadow so I could no longer see it well enough to finish. It is 11"x14", oil on linen panel
